Privacy policy

Last updated: [date]

This explains what personal information we collect when you join The 42-Day Digital Product Challenge or the community, why we need it, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language. Questions go to support@kait-mosca.com.

The short version:

  • We collect what we need to run the challenge: your account, your answers, your uploads and your drafts.
  • Your answers go to an AI service to write your drafts. It doesn't train on them.
  • We never sell, rent or trade your information.
  • Your dashboard is private. Community posts are seen by members.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.

1. Who we are

The challenge is run by 17188285 Canada Inc. ("we", "us"), Kait Mosca's company, based in Ontario, Canada. Our privacy contact is Kait Mosca, at support@kait-mosca.com · 1112-2482 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario M4P 2H5.

2. What we collect

When you buy: your name, email, and what you bought. Our checkout provider ([SamCart or Stan Store]) handles your payment. We never see or store your card number. At most, we see the last four digits and whether the payment went through.

When you join our email list or message us on social media: your name, email, and your Instagram or Facebook username and messages. This includes automatic replies when you comment a keyword on a post.

When you use the dashboard:

  • Your account: first name, email and password. Your password is stored scrambled (hashed), so nobody can read it, including us.
  • Your answers to the challenge forms, for example your story, what people ask you for help with, the person you'd like to help, and how you'd help them.
  • Files you upload, such as an existing product (PDF) for a Product Check-up.
  • Your drafts and edits, the idea you choose, and your progress (which days and checklist items you've finished).

In the community and on live calls: your posts, comments and hot seat requests. Live calls are recorded, so we also collect what you share on them (your voice, video, name and chat).

When you email us: whatever you write to us.

Technical basics: one login cookie that keeps you signed in, plus standard server logs such as your IP address and browser type, which we use for security and fixing problems. We don't use advertising trackers in the dashboard.

  • Lesson videos: the video player (Vimeo) may set its own cookies.
  • Our public pages: [if our sales pages use analytics or advertising pixels, such as Google Analytics or the Meta Pixel, name them here and say what they do].
  • Your control: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the login cookie, you won't be able to stay signed in.

About the other people in your answers

The forms ask you to describe a real person you'd like to help. Please use a first name or a nickname, and leave out anything that would identify them or reveal sensitive details about them, like their health. The same goes for anything sensitive about yourself: share only what you're comfortable with.

3. How we use it

  • To run the challenge for you: your account, lessons, progress and drafts.
  • To create your drafts. Your answers, and any product you upload, are sent to an AI service (section 4) to write drafts for you.
  • To support you. Kait and her support team may read your answers and drafts to help you. The dashboard can also flag a draft for Kait to look at, for example when answers look thin or a topic needs care. That's only so we can help; it never affects your access.
  • To email you about the program: logins, "your draft is ready", schedule changes and the like.
  • To improve the program, using overall patterns, such as where students get stuck.
  • To meet legal and accounting requirements.

Marketing emails: if you've bought from us, we may email you about our other programs and offers. Canada's anti-spam law allows this for two years after a purchase. Otherwise, we only send marketing emails if you've agreed to them.

  • Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link that works straight away. Replying "unsubscribe" works too.
  • Unsubscribing never stops your program emails, such as logins and receipts.

We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. We never share your work or results publicly without your written permission. We only share information beyond our service providers in two cases:

  • If the law requires it.
  • If the business is sold or transferred. Your information would then go to the new owner under this same policy.

4. Companies that help us

We use a few trusted service providers. They process your information only to provide their service to us:

Your information may be stored and processed outside Canada. While it's there, it's subject to that country's laws, and authorities there may be able to access it.

5. Who can see what

  • Your dashboard is private. Only you, Kait and her support team can see your answers, uploads and drafts.
  • Community posts and comments can be seen by all community members.
  • Live-call recordings are shared with challenge students or community members, depending on the call. Keep your camera off, or use the chat, if you'd rather not appear. Before a hot seat, we'll confirm with you, and you can say no.
  • Outside the program, we never use your posts or recordings without your written permission.

6. How long we keep it

  • Your account, answers, uploads and drafts: for as long as you have access, which is the life of the program. If we close the program, we delete them, or remove anything that identifies you, [90] days after the closing notice.
  • Delete it sooner: you can delete an uploaded file yourself at any time, or ask us to delete your account.
  • Purchase records: kept for as long as tax law requires (usually six years in Canada).
  • Backups: they're overwritten on a rolling schedule, so deleted information may remain in a backup for a short time.

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask to:

  • see the personal information we hold about you
  • correct it
  • delete your account and data
  • withdraw your consent, for example to marketing emails

Email support@kait-mosca.com and we'll reply within 30 days. Some requests may end your access to the program, such as deleting your account during a cohort.

Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK), you may have other rights too. We'll honour these requests wherever you live, and we'll never treat you differently for making one.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, tell us first and we'll try to fix it. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

8. Keeping it safe

  • Your connection to the dashboard is encrypted.
  • Passwords are stored scrambled (hashed).
  • Uploaded files are private to your account.
  • Only Kait and her support team can access student information.

No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we'll tell you if a breach puts you at real risk.

9. Age

The challenge and community are for adults, 18 and over. If we learn that someone under 18 has given us personal information, we'll delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If it's a big change, we'll email you.
